I addition to Lake Guntersville, BCGS will also be starting bass fishing trips on Kentucky Lake, Tims Ford Lake and Center Hill Lake!!! I am excite to introduce new BCGS Guide Bill Merrick who will be guiding on these lakes: Bill Merrick was born in 1965, in Port Washington, Wisconsin, where his father introduced him to the great outdoors as a young lad. Learning early to love and respect God?s country, Bill was intrigued by the sport of fishing at a young age, but it wasn?t until he returned from duty in the Air Force that competitive fishing caught his attention. Bill obtained his charter captain?s license in 1987 and purchased a 27? Carver for guiding on Lake Michigan. He and a partner entered several walleye tournaments and managed to finish in the top 10 in most. After moving to Tennessee in 1993 to pursue his ?other job,? Bill soon married and started a family and his passion for tournament fishing got put on the back burner. With his son growing older, he purchased a new bass boat in 2003 and began participating in bass tournaments, a much different sport than walleye fishing. Although the competition was tough, Bill won a Tennessee Team Bass (TTB) event in 2003, finished 2nd in another TTB event in 2004 and won money in two more events. At the end of three years, Bill had won a Music City Bass event, finished 5th in a Professional Bass Fishing (PBF) event, won 3 TTB events and finished 2nd & 6th in 2 other TTB events. In 2005 he finished 2nd in TTB points and finished 7th in the Classic. Currently a General Manager for a customer-focused company in Nashville, Bill brings a wealth of experience to novice and veteran anglers alike.
